Our Story

Our story begins with Boyd, Ouder’s founder. A true Virgo, Boyd's quiet nature never overshadowed his desire for a friendly, smiley presence, even though his shoe choices often lagged behind. This changed when he met a creative genius at a design conference in New York City, sparking a footwear revolution.

Boyd's first encounter with what would become Ouder’s signature smiley sneakers didn't quite resonate. But after some playful experimentation, they evolved into the perfect flat sneaker, embodying Boyd’s everyday essence. His wife's initial surprise turned into admiration as she realized these shoes were not just youthful but a bold expression of identity.

Ouder emerged from these authentic experiences. Our name, a twist on “Outer,” signifies our quest to push the frontiers of individuality and creativity. Our logo captures this mission, a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation and evolution. Dive into Ouder, where every pair is a step towards expressing your unique style.

The 'O' deconstructed pattern extends and expands to the sides, filled with the word 'Smile.' Its wide and exaggerated design resembles a person's big grin when they are happy, hence the name 'Open Smile.' These smiling shoes aren't just a fashion statement; they redefine comfort and style.

The heel is made of high-resilience EPR foam material, reducing the weight of the shoes and enhancing cushioning effects to elevate your walking experience. The layered and progressive sole, complementing the curvature of the shoe upper, creates a seamless fusion of style and functionality. The sole adds approximately 3cm in height, providing both a fashionable lift and superior comfort.

The sole features a translucent crystal base that beautifully reflects the words 'SMILE!!! SMILE!! SMILE!' as you walk, creating a captivating visual effect. Each step is a reminder to embrace joy and positivity.

Our designer has paired the distinctive crystal egg logo with a unique thick round shoelace design. This avant-garde approach adds a touch of youthful energy.

The tongue of the shoe is made of top-grain leather, featuring embossed raised effects that highlight the Ouder logo, creating a distinctive and premium look.
